It was a miracle.
It was only blue ink (ballpoint pen) on slightly yellow paper.

Dearest Guru,
Thanks for the sketch. Are you using colour ink to draw?
Because in my computer the line image is in rainbow colour, it was
very colourfull.
My warmest regards

Stanley,
It is a natural expression of one's inner state.
Both images are attached. The sketch of Buddha I did in the doc file
was drawn many years ago while I was talking over the phone to
Upasaka Tan Seong Yeow, and I was describing to him my ideas of how
to carve a simple image of Buddha into a seal.
Subsequently he carved a seal, basically based on this sketch. Some
Buddhists liked it very much, and used the sketch as letterheads.
Hence I had such a file. Right away I could not find the image file
that contained this sketch of a smiling Buddha.

Dr. Lin,
It's a very nice face. Joyous, serene, and totally uncontrived. I
remember a small happy sitting monk that you drew many years ago and
put on the back of a book. This has an
analogous feel and more mature, spiritually speaking. To me, perhaps
such kind of unplanned and all natural drawings are sometimes even
more touching than some recent calligraphies.

Disciple Yong Lee asked me to show him the proper way to install gem
stones on the Five-Buddha crown of the statue of Avalokitesvara
(Thousand-arm Guan Yin), so I drew the attached image to indicate
the placement of gems of the five colors.
Since it was written in Chinese, I add the following explanation in
English:
1. blue, 2. white, 3. yellow, 4. red, and 5. green.
May all beings attain Enlightenment soon!
