“景命之灯”印之缘起

一九九五年四月三日起床前思及：“长子建宏已进高三，每日忙于课业，难得见面交谈。但他若有事，则自然无条件、彻底照顾。佛法修行者对众生也是本着这种亲情，毫无计较，一心为他们祈祷、服务。”马上在心中浮现“景命之灯”四字。
起床后查《三民大辞典》，景命即大命。古时以天子治国乃承天之大命，而号“景命”。佛法修行者为求众生之彻底解脱而奉献身命，无分众生之种类，无有休止之时期，此种生命更堪称为“景命”。因此，“景命之灯”乃开示：此种爱护众生有如亲子，毫无计较之菩提心，是照亮菩提道之明灯；依之而行，无虞偏失。
此属感应之印证教授，诚然可贵。特请陈祥耀居士篆印，以为纪念，以供弘扬此旨。
愿景命之灯三世常明，普照十方！

I had written in calligraphy Jing Ming Zhi Deng, Lamp of Bodhi Life.
It means that the compassion that cares for sentient beings should be like the love for one's own children that involves no calculations. The seal carved by Upasaka Tan Seong Yeow is also stamped along.
我刚手书景命之灯。它的意思是爱护众生犹如亲子，毫无计较。附上的印文是由陈祥耀居士所篆刻。
