得失表里说与谁？似喜还忧唯自知；
机缘演变每弄人，心通法界方解悬。

世间每为患得患失而苦。实际上，得失更有表里之分。机缘弄人，往往似喜实忧。唯有心广如法界者，能离于一时之得失，而免起伏无休之紧张。

Gains and losses, seeming and substantial, whom to confide in?
Seemingly happy yet tinted with worries, solely realized within.
Interplay of opportunities and situations often play tricks on us;
Only when mind opens limitlessly could such sorrows end.

Comment:

In worldly life people are often haunted by worries over gains and losses. In fact, there is a further distinction of seeming and substantial gains and losses. Fell prey to opportunities and situations, often happiness is only apparent while worries are concealed within. Only those with mind as open as the Dharmadhatu could remain unaffected by transient gains and losses to escape the tension of such unending ups and downs.
