日夜代祷抒众苦，超渡名单接踵来；
静观人间怜凄楚，寂然空中满悲号。

日夜不断，接到求告，或为抒苦，或求渡亡。行之多年，体会甚深：世界不宁，人间凄惨。静中反思，忽然领悟，寂然空中，满是悲号！

Cries of Suffering　Yutang Lin

Praying day and night to relieve sufferings of beings,
Lists of deceased beings continue to arrive for Powa.
In quietude reflecting on human miseries and sorrow,
Alas! The silent space is fulfilled with cries of agony.

Comment:

Day and night there is a continuous string of requests for prayer to relieve suffering or for Powa service to benefit deceased beings. After so many years of continuous services one is imbued with the realization that, the world is not in peace and human realm is full of miseries. Reflecting in quietude, suddenly the comprehension arose: The silent space is indeed fulfilled with cries of suffering.
