Self-purification toward Adequate Serviceြ/span>Yutang Lin

While mind maintains prejudice one would look without seeing.
Only concerned with oneself one could hardly look after others.
To put harmonious union of wisdom and compassion into deeds
One should purify one's mind so as to provide adequate service.

Comment:

Selfishness and prejudice render people's views narrow and lack of evenness and comprehensiveness. Engaging in Dharma practices could help remove all sorts of mental hindrances so that mind would gradually resume its original purity. Only a pure mind could see through worldly affairs and be considerate to others as if one were in their shoes. Consequently, it could be possible to attempt to provide adequate service.
