操练 林钰堂

身心康健赖操练,日日勤修无稍懈;
积久力道渐增长,灵敏安适享泰然。

身心欲得灵敏安适,宜有日课,不断操练。久后便起变化,不但日常泰然,更有助长久安康。近来于每日佛课之外,又做俯地挺身及仰卧起坐之体操,深觉其益,而作此篇。

Exercises Yutang Lin

Healthy body and mind depend on daily exercises.
Diligently practice day after day without negligence.
In time strength and stamina gradually accumulated.
One becomes dexterous and enjoys living at ease.

Comments:

To attain dexterity of body and clarity of mind one had better maintain daily exercises and practice them without negligence. After a while one will notice the ensuing changes. Exercises will not only help one to feel good in daily life but also help sustain long-term good health. Recently, in addition to my daily Dharma practices, I had adopted the physical exercises of doing sit-ups and push-ups. I had felt their benefits, so I wrote this work.
