道途、真理与生命　林钰堂

唯依因缘无可执，自然运行活生生；
修习契此成道途，千变万化无可限。

跋

耶教中常提基督乃唯一之道途、真理及生命。此三者在修习佛法之我听来，亦是融合一体。但是真理只在于一切乃因缘所成而无可执取；因缘之运行有其自然之规律，灵活一如有生命；吾人修习契合真理之种种努力皆成道途。如此了解则形形色色，方便万千而无限无尽，终不定于一尊一是。

The Way, the Truth, and the Life　Yutang Lin

Simply dependent on causal conditions with nothing to hold onto,
All phenomena function naturally and lively, as if a living entity.
All endeavors to resume oneness with this lively totality become ways.
With myriads of varieties, simply impossible to limit or bound them.

Comments:

In Christianity it is often quoted the saying of Jesus, "I am the way, the truth, and the life," and its consequent claim of sole monopoly to salvation. To me as a Buddhist practitioner these three, Way, Truth and Life, also form a harmonious trinity. However, the Truth is simply that all phenomena are consequences of causal conditions and there is nothing to hold onto; functioning of causal conditions are in accordance with natural laws, and it is lively as the Life; all our endeavors to practice so as to become in accordance and even in oneness with such Truth form Ways. With such comprehension of Way, Truth, and Life, ways and means of salvation become myriad and variegated such that they are boundless and endless; they would never rest in only one being or one right approach.
