整体投入 林钰堂

平等慈悯众生苦,身语意业契法行;
整体投入融法界,随缘一一蒙感应。

菩提大心在缘起上不离一时一地的特殊因缘,但其纯粹的整体涵盖性则不在于任何一时一地的特殊因缘上。因此真正发心要超乎个别因素,而是基于对所有有情的处境的广大平等慈悯。行者要契入菩提心,需要全生命的整体投入,使身语意业皆专注在佛法上。如此,方能契合诸佛、菩萨的救渡事业而产生不可思议、超乎时空局限的救渡功能。一旦契合,随缘皆有感应,而不需一一特加着力矣。

In Total Devotion Yutang Lin

With compassion that is equal to all beings for their predicaments,
Body, mind and speech immerse in activities in tune with Dharma,
In total devotion the Dharmadhatu merges into Limitless-Oneness,
As situations arise, one by one will be rescued through inspirations.

Comment:

Great mind of Bodhi causally arose from certain particular conditions of some specific time and place; nevertheless, its pure essence of universal encompassment rests on no particular conditions of any specific time and space. Therefore, genuine germination of Bodhi mind must transcend particular elements and be rooted in the comprehensive compassion that is equal to all beings for the predicaments of their sufferings. For a Dharma practitioner to merge into Bodhi mind it takes a complete devotion of one's whole life so that all activities of one's mind, body and speech concentrate on the Dharma. Only in this way could one immerse into the salvation activities of all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and then yield inconceivable salvation functions that transcend the limitations of time and space. Once such immersion is achieved, then, as situations arise, all sorts of miraculous inspiration simply occur, without the need to make special efforts case by case.
