Known Too Limited

Yutang Lin

What can be controlled?
Is there a limit to unknown?
Seeing clearly no grasping eventually,
Suddenly open up completely.
Out of the bush of worldly views,
Old attachments at once disappear.
Guarding Bodhi for the time remaining,
Out of compassion keep the bell ringing.

Comments:

Awaking to the fact that what is known is incomparable to what is unknown, and thereby renounce attachment to one's self-centeredness. Thus this poem was composed; may readers share the benefits of understanding this Dharma teaching.
