Small Container

Yutang Lin

How could a small container sustain the great truth?
Grasping the view from within a well, sky confined.
Under the Buddhist label fallen into worldly fashion,
Remain deluded all one’s life not knowing repentance.

Comment:

It is very difficult to transcend one’s capacity. Under the name of Dharma there are inevitably ignorant and self-righteous activities. Such lives would be passed in vain without ever reflecting on the mistakes made, not to mention considering repentance.
