Knowing Other Minds

Yutang Lin

On the Five Plateau Mountain
Wang Hao thought of gathering some stones as Dharma presents for others
Immediately he heard me saying
You may pick up some stones
Wondrous coincidence, but need not be an incident of knowing other minds

Under certain circumstance
Experienced ones would know how things may turn out
Sometimes they are right, sometimes wrong
Some would even insist on their prejudices
Thinking that certain outcomes are a must
That won't work, won't work, definitely not knowing other minds

Without even a trace of intention to know anything
Suddenly see some images or words
Hear or intuitively comprehend other's intentions
Thus may be counted as knowing other minds
