Renouncing Blueprints

Yutang Lin

Feeling ill at ease in mind
Fundamentally that is due to the presence of a blueprint
Interwoven by some definite thoughts and wishes
Together with preferences and dislikes
And desires that one could hardly articulate precisely

Any blueprint will find it impossible
To encompass everything in reality
And to avoid distortion from and conflict with evolution of facts
The tighter one holds onto one's personal blueprint
The more one will suffer from disappointments and impacts of pains

Seeing clearly that all things in life are beyond human manipulations
In the ocean of phenomena where all factors are mutually affecting one another
Whatever appears vividly are yet incessantly disappearing like illusions
Comprehended the limitations of blueprints and the boundlessness of reality
Renouncing blueprints in order to merge into oneness with reality
Thus is the right path to attain tranquility and clarity of mind

No longer sustaining personal blueprints interwoven by deluded grasping
Then there is no dissatisfaction arisen from distinctions and preferences held
This is the so-called "Great Perfection in Original Purity"
Great Perfection is simply the original state of the Dharmadhatu

Amendment:

Right after this work was publicized disciple Xin Ping in USA had a dream, saying that I had written a poem entitled "Heart Sutra." Usually she does not check emails so she did not know that I had written this work. While I wrote this work I did not explain that it is not a work based on results of thinking but a revelation of one's comprehension that occurred in life of Dharma practices. A work of this kind that is based on one's comprehension of truth may convey blessings to some practitioners when they read it. Originally I did not intend to give this explanation. Now that this dream occurred, so I stated it in this amendment, and I also added a subtitle to this work to indicate that it contains the heart essence of Great Perfection. If one can comprehend the significance of this work, then not only all worldly grasping will be renounced, but also all Dharma-related grasping will leave no traces behind. Only Dharma beyond conceptual teachings is the reality.
